How to recognise authority

How do you recognise your authority? That place in you that points to right action regardless of what other people think or what your own mind thinks.

I make up that all of us who have come across Human Design have been searching for this key for a long, long time.

I remember when I found mine. It was during my free Human Design chart viewing. I had no idea what Human Design was all about and what to expect. But there was something specific I was looking for.

When my gaze landed on the word ‘Authority’ followed by ‘Emotional’ I knew that I had found it. My next immediate question was: ‘How does my ‘Emotional Authority’ work?’

And here I am nearly four years later, still wooing my authority like a desperate lover. But it is well worth it.

Whether your authority is emotionally based like mine - or whether it is any of the other five inner authorities in the Human Design bodygraph* - you might find that making decisions from there is not always easy.

Why? Because most of us have not been raised with awareness and understanding of our authentic self, nor with the freedom to act according to our nature. We have  learned, instead, to react from two polarities: pain and pleasure; fear and excitement.

Those are the two themes that any of us will meet again and again while on the path of Human Design. Fear will overshadow the truth when we want to say ‘No’ to our loved ones. Excitement will mask an urgent need for relief from pain.

Clarity from your authority will not have you jump up and down with fear or excitement, nor does it come with excuses or explanations.  It simply is your truth in the face of who or what you meet.

If you are new to Human Design I invite you explore the key to your authority. If you already are walking the path of your design, trust yourself.

*Your inner authority is part of your Human Design chart data. There are six options for inner authorities based on specific energy centres. They include the emotional power of the Solar Plexus, the Sacral gut-feeling, the Splenic intuition and the Ego centre’s will power.
